Since 1883, children with special needs have found help and understanding hearts at Mount Saint Vincent. Over 17,500 children have come to Mount Saint Vincent since its first days as an orphanage.Mount Saint Vincent works with children, ages three to fourteen, with a wide range of emotional and behavioral problems including children with a need for simple behavior modification or a more structured environment in which to build skills and abilities – to those suffering from trauma (loss, abuse, neglect, deprivations and other disruptions) or genetic mental health problems. Programs include: · Children’s residential and day treatment · Preschool and day care (ages 3-6) · K-8th grade school (S. Daniel Stefani School) · Individual, group and family counseling; parenting classes and workshops. · Outpatient psychiatric counseling. Mount Saint Vincent, through community collaborations, provides foster care and adoption services, and home-based programming. Mount Saint Vincent’s ultimate goals are to assure each child continuing care and a permanent, stable home with the needed family support systems. |
