Historic Elitch
Gardens Theatre Foundation |
The Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre was built
in 1891. A rare surviving example of Victorian resort architecture, the Theatre
was discribed as 'one of the cradles of American drama', according to legendary
film director and actor, Cecil B. DeMille, who played there in 1905.
The Mission of the Historic Elitch Gardens
Theatre Foundation is to renovate and maintain The Historic Elitch Gardens
Theatre, The Carousel Pavilion and The Theatre Plaza; to preserve the historic
identity of the Theatre and The Carousel Pavilion; and to present quality
programming in all three venues which serve as cultural and community anchors
for Northwest Denver.
