The
Center’s mission statement is: “By providing comprehensive training, support and
opportunities to blind persons and others in developing positive attitudes, the
Colorado
Center
for the Blind empowers blind persons to lead independent lives as fully
integrated, productive and contributing members of society.”
The
Colorado Center for the Blind, a nonprofit corporation with IRS 501c3
designation, is a rehabilitation center for legally blind persons of all ages.
CCB has provided specialized services to blind persons since 1988. The core
curriculum of classes includes: Braille, home management, travel with a long
white cane, and computers. It is one of three centers in the
United States
offering comprehensive, integrated training that results in blind students being
able to live and compete on terms of equality with their sighted peers and fully
participate in their communities.
