The
Foundation offers housing and tactical support for families with children from
across the Rocky Mountain region that travel to Denver to seek treatment for
life-threatening cancer.
In addition to managing Brent's Place, a complex of clean, low-cost apartments
for our families, the Foundation offers compassion, support, activities,
outings, group meals and other amenities for families away from home trying to
deal with the toughest challenge of their lives.
The odds of a child under 19 being diagnosed with cancer is one in 330, making
access to specialized care a major concern for families seeking to fight the
progression of the disease.
The Eleys hope that in providing families of children who are post bone marrow
transplantation with clean, affordable and low-cost housing while they are in
Denver seeking treatment, they will make a very difficult process a little
easier to deal with.
Working together with friends and supporters, the Brent Eley Foundation makes a
difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families…one day at a
time.
Mission
The Brent Eley Foundation® is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit public charity dedicated
to "making a
difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families…one day at a
time". We provide housing for
children with cancer who have had a bone marrow transplant when other forms of
treatment fail to cure the underlying disease. The unique nature of Brent's
PlaceTM and our
individual family apartments, allows the children to return to an interim
home-like setting in as little as three weeks as they gain the ability to fight
infection and blood cells return to normal function.
