Our Mission:
To prevent lung disease and promote
lung health. Additionally, the American Lung Association of Colorado is
dedicated to improving the quality of life for everyone in the beautiful state
of Colorado through education, research and advocacy.
You breathe in and out some 20,000 times a day. It's a process you probably
never even think about, but for more than 30 million Americans each and every
breath can be a struggle.
Lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States,
killing one in seven people. Lung diseases include emphysema,
asthma, lung cancer, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary
hypertension, and pulmonary fibrosis. Poor air quality
can possibly lead to lung disease, as well as aggravate symptoms of those living
with it. Tobacco use is directly responsible for almost 90 percent of all lung
cancer cases.
Funds received through Cars Helping Charities
from your vehicle will
support our Champ Camp program, a weeklong camp for children with asthma. This
26 year old camp helps to teach kids asthma management skills, and helps them
build self-confidence through a wide variety of fun activities, such as rock
climbing and canoeing.
